This show is released monthly with updates on

0:07

our open submission calls, new book releases, and

0:10

more.

0:11

Stay tuned and visit our website at publishing

0:15

0:21

about our open submission calls and our books.

0:24

And now, this month's show.

0:28

Hello, I'm Kit Kaelstow, owner and publisher of

0:31

Epona Muse Publishing, and this is the Epona

0:34

Muse Publishing News for July 2026.

0:38

We are still reading for our three anthologies,

0:42

which will close later this year.

0:44

There's about six weeks or so left to

0:49

contribute to Gouda and Cozy, which is a

0:52

cozy fantasy anthology where cheese has to play

0:56

an important role.

0:58

And this could be a cheese that you

1:00

might experience in our world, this might be

1:02

a cheese that is unique to your fantasy

1:05

world, but the story must be cozy fantasy

1:09

and cheese must play an important role.

1:13

And this is kind of based on the

1:15

thought of what's cozier than like a grilled

1:17

cheese on a cold winter's day.

1:19

So, you know, run with that, write what

1:21

you will.

1:23

We are also reading non-fiction anthologies for

1:29

our story, which one of the office cats

1:33

has graciously come to model for us.

1:36

You might see him on the camera here

1:38

a little bit, but this is the autistic

1:41

relationship with animals.

1:43

These are essays, non-fiction, lived, experienced essays.

1:47

And most people that I know who also

1:51

identify as neurodivergent, we have some pretty special

1:55

relationships with animals.

1:57

I've heard it said that that's because our

1:59

animal companions love us unconditionally.

2:02

We find that we can relate better to

2:05

animals and animals play a very important role

2:09

in our life.

2:10

And so I'd love to hear your stories.

2:12

Send me your animal stories or goes another

2:15

cat.

2:16

So see their cats are very important here

2:18

at the Epona Muse publishing headquarters.

2:21

I sincerely hope we get some essays about

2:24

cats as well for the anthology, but other

2:27

animals are welcome as well.

2:30

Finally, we're reading for a charity anthology, which

2:33

is called Magic is Plum Wild.

2:36

And the proceeds for this anthology is going

2:39

to go to a nonprofit that actually helps

2:44

people with storm recovery.

2:45

And they kind of help people who fall

2:47

through the cracks of FEMA and traditional insurance

2:50

places that get that have gotten hard recently.

2:54

They've usually been on the ground within like

2:56

the first 24 hours with supplies.

2:59

And so this again would be, you know,

3:02

ideally fantasy, but I'll take your science fiction

3:05

as well.

3:05

Space weather is weather too.

3:08

And this is just weather that is plum

3:11

wild.

3:11

So however you interpret that, this is, I

3:14

expect a lot of storms, maybe a few

3:16

tornadoes, all fictional, of course, but I would

3:22

just love to hear your interpretation of that

3:24

theme.

3:25

And those submissions close in October, if I

3:31

remember correctly, but you've got a couple of

3:33

months.

3:33

So I encourage you to submit to our

3:37

open submission calls.

3:39

If you have any questions, if you'd like

3:42

to learn more about Epona Muse publishing, I

3:45

also encourage you to visit our website at

3:47

publishing.eponaauthorsolutions.com.

3:52

And you can see those links in our

3:54

show notes.

3:55

And as always, one of the best ways

3:57

to support the press is to buy our

4:00

books, leave reviews, but also if you're hearing

4:04

this new show, if you're getting this new

4:06

show on your social media feeds, go ahead

4:09

and share it, hit that like and subscribe

4:11

if you can.

4:13

Little actions like that may seem very little,

4:16

but they do add up and they help

4:17

out small presses and small independent creators quite

4:21

a bit.

4:22

Thank you so much.

4:23

I hope you have a safe and happy

4:25

month of July.

4:27

And that'll be it until next month.

4:33

You've been listening to the Epona Muse publishing

4:36
